June 21st. known as the "Summer Solstice" marks the beginning of Summer and is the longest day of the year. I have been shooting the sunsets over the CHesapeake Bay on this date for the past few years.
The weather did not cooperate on the 21st. of this year, so I headed out on the 22nd. Close enough,right?
What made this trip special,was that I shot the event from my recently restored 1974 20' Mako center console, while my 10 year old daughter drove. (See the "Mako 20" gallery.)
It was a beautiful sunset with the approaching storms . The inland shots were taken on Long Creek in Va. Beach.
